CHILDREN & YOUTH

Children

We provide programmes for children aged 4-10 on Sunday mornings, generally on the 1st, 3rd, & 4th Sundays of the month.

We value the contribution of children at St Peter’s, and they are involved in many aspects of our church life including our annual nativity.

If you have any questions, please contact Stella Grosshans.

UNITED - YOUNGER YOUTH

UNITED - Younger Youth

‘United Youth’ is our group for 10–15 year-olds at St Peter’s. We use the acronym SPIRIT to describe what we do. SPIRIT stands for: Space, Process, Imagination, Relationship, Intimacy and Trust.

The Younger Youth meets on Sunday mornings, generally on the 1st, 3rd, & 4th Sundays of the month. We value the contribution of the youth at St Peter’s, and they are involved in many aspects of our church life. If you have any questions, please contact Becky Mills.

SPACE

Space for reflection, questioning and discussion. We discuss difficult questions and as they try to make sense of the world, provide a safe space where they can argue, question and explore.

PROCESS

The process of learning is important to us, so we like to use a variety of different activities: games, quizzes, video clips, craft, discussion and sharing experiences of faith.

IMAGINATION

We like to encourage them to use their imagination to help them develop empathy with powerful biblical stories, personal experiences and imaginary scenarios and through them to make meaning for themselves.

RELATIONSHIP

We would like to build a relationship as people journeying together through fun activities, trips and summer camps together.

INTIMACY

We want them to grow in their intimacy with God through sung worship and prayer or through listening to music linked with the theme of the session.

TRUST

We want to promote an atmosphere of trust, where we learn together, listen to each other and exercise mutual respect. It’s all about getting them to talk about their disappointments and difficulties and grow spiritually through them, but at the same time for them to feel loved and accepted exactly where they are.
